“Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood” Book Talk
Reflection
This book talk on the book Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood was our final project where we discussed a book we had read for this class. We were graded on editing, audio, content, and visuals. Through this project I learned how to use iMovie and how to effectively craft a book talk. Even though learning how to edit and having to film was tiring and frustrating, the project taught me invaluable skills.
This class, ENG/EDU 320, taught me how to look at young adult literature through a critical lens and to question what awards mean. Through group work I was able to see how important it is for every group member to do their part. Although this class ended up being more for education minors instead of what I initially thought it to be, a heavy look into young adult literature through the lens of an English class, I still learned a lot. Overall, this class taught me how to concisely talk about books and present my opinions to an audience.
